Marvel Universe
A couple of youngsters were able to go to the Marvels Universe show at the American Airlines Convention Center. They had a great time and where able to meet all their favorite super hero's!
Nasher Event
We took a group of 40 youngsters to the Nasher for docent-led tours. It was a very interesting 2-hours for the students, high school juniors, and seniors. They interacted with the docents and were able to ask a variety of questions. The students participated in an art class and came away with very positive feelings. The Nasher is one of the more interesting museums in the Dallas Fort Worth area. Especially to these youngsters, who got to interact and learn so much!
Boys and Girls Club event
Representing Arts and Education, Mr. James Rosenberg participated in the following Boys and Girls Club event: “Here at Roseland we’re ending the summer with a bang as we transition with momentum into the fall. This will be a combination of Money Matters/ Career Launch targeted programming. Each student will be choosing a career and imaginarily allocated with the average monthly salary of that profession. Taxes, of course, will be rationed away....and then our students will go through various stations set up, watching that salary dwindle away (hence the reality) that we, and soon they, will live in. Stations will vary from insurance, investments, clothing, medical, entertainment, housing, and utilities to name a few.
Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey (Circus)
The Youngsters got to go to the Circus and had a wonderful time! Thank you to the Kohls volunteers for helping us put this event together. We had such a blast and fun time getting to see the performances, and of course elephants!
